I found an egg…it needed a nest.
(Pine needles soaked overnight~then lovingly woven)
These are the pics that didn’t make it into the post over at DesignSponge. Thanks to the stylish peeps over there for the coverage!
I have been getting so many requests about the construction, I am leaving the post to the blog that covers it. The renovation was primarily done by my husband and he blogged about it here >> Cyclocontractor.wordpress.com
It took a long time to get these babies to grow, but am I glad I planted them. I pulled up this bunch to throw into the mix for dinner and they were superb! I know carrots are good for you and me, but I wanted to share a bit of knowledge from the smart guys over at Organic Facts. The health benefits of carrots include reduced cholesterol, prevention from heart attacks, warding off certain cancers and many others. Whew! I feel better already. So~get out there and get you some carrots!
If you want to read all the good stuff, go to Organic Facts page on carrots, here >>
I used the Cuttlebug to emboss a plain piece of tin purchased at a hardware store. It was really easy to bend over the sharp edges then wrap it around 2 “D” rings from another (old) belt. After sewing in a length of double-faced ribbon from SAS Fabrics, I was ready to go!

The time has come when it’s just too hot to sit outside~and that means covering the outdoor furniture with drop cloths to keep it clean. I recently reupholstered my patio furniture and was sad to not be able to see it anymore, so I drizzled a design on the existing cover.

I am pleased to have had my home and studio featured in the Jackalope Blog of the New Times Phoenix. Big thanks go out to Spring Eselgroth for her great write up!

The one accessory I am rarely without is a flower for my hair~especially these hot summer days when I have to wear my hair up to stay cool. The twenty-some flower clips I own were a little hard to sift through quickly until I attached them all to bamboo skewers and put them in a vase. Not only is it the prettiest thing in my bathroom, I can pick a flower and run~I love efficiency!
